Leather Leg Of Mutton Case
A leg of mutton case with a glorious patina. This case will take 30" barrels. The red baize lining is intact but is worn. The polished leather is old and has plenty of signs of wear, but does genuinely look the better for it. The buckle flap looks to have been replaced a while ago, and I have had some restiching done on the lid, and it is now set for the next 100 years!
Oak Rifle Case
A handsome Oak Rifle case. This case is 49" long, 8" wide and 3 1/4" high. It is lined with green baize which is in good condition. I do not have a key for the lock, which would be needed before anything valuable were to be carried in it.
Leather Leg of Mutton Case
A solid and tidy leather leg of mutton case. This will take 30" barrels. The handle, brass lock and buckle strap are all in good condition. It would have had a shoulder strap fitted to the brass rings, but this is no longer with it. The inside is lined with green baize, which is tatty. These cases are more practical than a traditional motor case, offer more protection than a slip and are quite discrete when traveling or staying in hotels and the like.
Oak and Brass Gun Case
A well made and solid gun case from well figured oak, and with brass corners and fittings. This box measures 33 1/4" by 9" by 3 1/3". It will take 32" barrels. The interior is in green baize which isn in good condition but with an oil stain on the inside of the lid - this is clear in the photos. A good solid case which comes with a key for the working lock.
